SHE IS HERE!
I am just so excited i can't stand it... we have another neice! For those of you who don't know, our first neice, Caroline, was born on May 31, 2007. And now Georgia has joined her on June 13, 2007. Since they are the first two girls after four little nephews, you can imagine we are QUITE beside ourselves with joy in my family. Check out the links for more pictures.

oh sweet floyd...
everyone has those childhood pictures they look back at and just wonder, "wow, were the eighties really that amazing?" But some of us were far more fashionable than others. Take Floyd for example. He has frequently said, "My mother abused me through fashion" and to a certain extent, i have to agree with him. Putting a seven year old boy in a christmas sweater and glasses fit for a sixty year old man, then combining that with the laserbeam background that all of our elementary schools used one year, and you have a recipe for disaster. But a pretty hilarious one to reflect on eighteen years later...
Grants Goddess Hard at Work
My dear friend from VA has in the past been known to introduce me to staffers, agency reps, and constituents as the "Grants Goddess". I'm really not sure what that means, but it's pretty funny regardless. Just last month i facilitated five workshops around the great state of SC. I don't think my sisters believe that i really do these things sometimes, because they've never had the pleasure of seeing me in action. Here are several of my moves as caught by a fellow staff member during a presentation. A comic strip of goddess moments if you will...

what great marketing can do...
Where's the Fence?
IF you aren't immersed in politics like some of us are, you may not have seen the throw down on the Senate floor for the last two days over the Immigration bill some labeled a "grand bargain". Failing to reach a cloture vote, it would have provided a path to citizenship for over 12 million illegal residents of our country as an immediate benefit. There are many arguements on both sides of this issue. I do have to say that I appreciate crafty commercials that shed light on an issue like this one.

If bumpers could cry...
So... my car got a boo boo this week... and it was all my fault. But I am grateful! I know, I know... this sounds crazy.
There are a couple of things I should note: Will actually had a fender bender not six weeks ago... and hit a hypochondriac who is claiming medical bills.. AND HE TAPPED HER IN A PARKING LOT...
Also, I was driving a 12 year old car until about 3 months ago, when we decided it really wasn't safe for a pregnant woman to be driving vehicle when the brakes had gone out twice in the last six months. But today, under the circumstances, i wouldn't mind to be still driving that POS.
so really, why now? But like i said... i am thankful.
I am grateful because I haven't had a car accident in 4.5 years. And I've even thought about it recently... I am way overdue! But when i pulled into the parking space and felt the SSSCCCUUUUFFFFF of bumpers rubbing together, my heart still sank. But the great thing is this: I got a wet towel, and furiously washed the other guy's bumper, and all of my paint that my bumper had left there came right off... but none of his. Not a bit. His bumper looks shiny and new. Mine has a boo boo. And I am okay with that. It's not great, but it could be so much worse! And I a grateful because God is gracious, He kept me safe in that little POS for 8 years, and he is still keeping me and our precious-little-one-to-be safe.
The End.
